DID YOU KNOW?

Are you affiliated with any other funeral home?
No. We are a truly family owned and operated funeral home located in Mount Dora. We are not related to, nor do we have, any affiliations with any other funeral home, including Harden-Pauli Funeral Home in Eustis.

What should one do when a death occurs?
Arrangements for disposition of the deceased generally can be made by a spouse, next of kin or legal representative. The normal sequence of events for handling a death is as follows:

1. Contact law enforcement official if the death was unattended.
2. Death must be pronounced by a coroner, M.E. or attending physician.
3. Contact relatives.
4. Locate deceased's letter of direction, prepaid funeral contract, insurance policy or will.
5. Contact the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home.
6. When a death occurs out of state or country it is advisable that you immediately
contact the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home who knows the requirements that must
be met, as well as help prevent duplication of service costs.

Do I have to pay if I prearrange a funeral?
No. Some prefer to outline their instructions and preferences to help guide their family during such a stressful time. This information is kept on file and is easily accessible. While you certainly have the option of pre-paying, it is not required to make pre-arrangements.

I have already purchased arrangements with another funeral home, is it true that I can have those services transferred to your home at no cost to me?
Yes, your services can be transferred to the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home even though you have already pre-paid, and there are no additional costs to you. Please contact us for further information. We accept ALL pre arrangements!

What are the available methods of disposition?
Human remains can be buried, entombed, cremated, or donated for scientific study.

What is embalming and its purpose?
Embalming is the use of chemicals, internally and externally, to disinfect and preserve the body for open casket viewing and/or for the removal of the body to distant destinations.

Can I donate my organs without donating my entire body?
Yes. You may leave written or oral instructions regarding your wishes.
