Murray Knowles, 91, of Mount
Dora, FL passed away on Monday,
January 30, 2012 at Edgewater Nursing Home in Mount Dora, FL.
Murray was born in Camden, New
Jersey on August 18, 1920, third son of late Harry Gill Knowles and
Mary Margret (Nellie) Talbot. Murray was the widower of Dorothy Ross
Knowles.
Murray was a Lieutenant serving in
the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945. Stationed in Italy flying the
B-24 Liberator assigned to the 781st Bomb Squadron, 465th Group, 55th
Wing of the Fifteenth Air Force. Murray flew 18 missions before being
shot down on Friday, October 13, 1944 over Tuchow Poland. Murray
spent nine (9) months in Prisoner-of-War camps before being liberated
by Patton’s army.
After WWII military service,
Murray’s professional career saw him as a Marketing Manager for
Weyerhaeuser Corporation until he and his wife Dorothy retired to Lake
County; Mount Dora, Florida in 1977. Throughout his life he enjoyed
working with young people and was proud of his past service as a Boy
Scout Troop Leader as well as his involvement with local Kiwanis young
adult programs.
Murray is survived by many nieces
and nephews. He will be greatly missed by family and friends and will
be remembered as a creative, fun loving, caring Gentleman who was
always willing to give a helping hand to someone in need.
Memorial service will be held at
Allen J. Hardin Funeral Home in Mount Dora, Florida on Friday,
February 3, 2012. Visitation between 10am – noon, memorial service to
follow noon to 1pm.

Robert Joseph DeLorenzo,
53, of Leesburg, FL passed away on Wednesday , January 25, 2012 of
Cardiac Arrest.
Mr. DeLorenzo
was born in Niskayuna, NY on July 5, 1958 Son of Robert C. DeLorenzo
of Zellwood, FL. and the late Carolyn A. DeLorenzo originally from
Schenectady, NY. He was a graduate of Scotia Glenville High School in
1976. Received an Associate’s Degree in culinary Arts at Schenectady
Community college.
He enjoyed
cooking and entertaining for his large family and friends. He had an
avid green thumb. He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time and
spoiling his grandchildren. He loved watching all food channels.
Was united in
marriage to Hazel (Dee Dee) DeLorenzo on May 15, 1981, in New York.
Survivors
include his five children, Michelle Mercer of Apopka, FL., Maurice
Mercer of Orlando, FL., Robert DeLorenzo Jr. of Orlando, FL., Leland
DeLorenzo of Orlando, FL., And Carolyn DeLorenzo of Leesburg, FL. Six
grandchildren, Deondre Mercer, Diana Mercer, Austin Mercer, Sammy
DeLorenzo, Maria DeLorenzo and Carmine DeLorenzo. Three siblings, Greg
DeLorenzo of Eustis, FL., Joanne Ruppert and Husband Brian Ruppert of
Mount Dora, FL. Lara MacVean of Satellite Beach, FL. An Aunt, Marylyn
Lane of Schenectady, NY, and Uncle, Joseph DeLorenzo of Schenectady,
NY. And Numerous nieces and nephews , and cousins.
Memorial Mass
will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at St. Patrick’s Catholic
church 6803 Old Highway 441 South, Mount Dora, FL. At 9am. Reception
to follow at St. Patrick’s Church, reception hall.

.Frances F. Sellers,
age 87, of Mount Dora, Titusville,
St. Augustine, and Kissimmee, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2012,
in Tampa, FL.
She was born
February 19, 1924, in Sebrell, Virginia, to Lewis D. Felts and Sarah
Frances Dunn Felts. She was the youngest of 5 surviving children.
Upon the death of her mother and from the age of 2 weeks, she was
raised by her aunt, Blanche Dunn Dickens Williams Robinson, in
Virginia and North Carolina. Frances attended the University of Mary
Washington and graduated from Stewart Circle Nursing School, Richmond,
Virginia as a registered nurse. Following World War II, Frances
married David D. Sellers, Sr. and moved with him to his native Mount
Dora where they raised their family.
Frances worked
at Waterman Memorial Hospital and was promoted to the position of
Director of Nursing in the 1960s. She remained in this position
throughout the rest of her career, serving in this capacity at Jess
Parrish Memorial Hospital in Titusville, St. Augustine General, and
Kissimmee Memorial. She retired in 1987 in Kissimmee where she
contributed many volunteer hours on the Board of Spring Meadow
Condominium Association. She moved to Tampa in 2009 to be near
family.
Her greatest
joy was her family. She was happiest when her children,
grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were all together. Throughout
her life she remained engaged and actively interested in the welfare
and accomplishment of her immediate and extended family. She is
survived by her children: Michael Sellers, of Penrose, NC; Fran
Baylies-Weissing (Lou), of Tampa, FL; David D. Sellers, Jr. (Fran) of
Center Hill, FL; grandchildren: Christina Johnson (Tony) of Saluda,
NC; Rebecca Tyner of Mills River, NC; Benjamin Baylies of Tampa; Sarah
Baylies (fiancée Thomas Adams) of Tampa; and Debbie Slaney (Jay) of
Orlando; great-grandchildren: Austin Lively, Haley Lively, Kaleb
Johnson, Logan Johnson, Jerry Tyner, Emily Bilcovich, and Alexander
Adams. She is also survived by a loving extended family in Virginia;
Washington, DC; and New Jersey. She taught us all that physical
distance was no barrier to loving relationships and that we carry a
bit of our loved ones around with us in our hearts.
A graveside
service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012, at 1PM at Pine
Forest Cemetery in Mount Dora, FL.

Jack K. Braddock, 84, of Mount
Dora, FL passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012.
Tribute to Our
loving father – A legend in his own time. Always there for us with
great love. Through example he has proven to all that knew him that
dreams do come true. He was a True Christian Hearted Man with the
greatest love of Jesus Christ.
“You can shed
tears that he is gone, or you can smile because he has lived. You can
close your eyes and pray he’ll come back or you can open your eyes and
see all that he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can’t
see him, or you can be full of the love he shared with you.”
Native
Floridian Born in High Springs Florida during the Great Depression. He
was the youngest brother of 5 children. Jack set out to make his world
“His Way”. A man of great dreams with the fortitude and determination
to achieve what he had visualized. Jack met the love of his life
beautiful Elizabeth Lindstrom in High School in Bloomfield, NJ where
he also played football when they won the State Championship. He
joined the US Navy and served during World War II as a flight medic.
Once he returned home from serving, Jack and Elizabeth were married
and were blessed with 4 children Renae, Mark, Wayde, and Bonnie.
Starting at
the bottom as a bill poster in Newark, NJ his advertising dream came
to reality. He became the Manager of Operations at United Advertising.
After 25 years at United, he became an Out of Home Media Buyer for
RJR/Nabisco. He then began his own successful advertising company Boss
Media.
He was able to
follow his dream to return to his home of Florida. Once retired Jack
and Elizabeth built their dream horse farm named “High Hopes” in Mount
Dora, Florida and began breeding and racing thoroughbred race horses.
His intuitive love for all animals and passion for horses filled his
later years.
Jack is
survived by his wife of 64 blessed years Elizabeth Braddock and his
children, Renae Khoury, Mark Braddock, Wayde Braddck and Bonnie
Braddock. Sister Marion Robinson and Brother William Braddock and 9
beautiful grandchildren.
Dad, For what
you have given us we will be forever grateful…We will miss you so.
A viewing will
be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. at Faith
Lutheran Church, 2727 S. Grove Street, Eustis, FL 32726.

Kathryn
Jones Cain, On Saturday,
January 7, 2012 the Cain, Turk, Martinez, West, Kinsey, Harris and
Zembower families were changed forever with the passing of our beloved
mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Kathryn J. Cain of Mount
Dora.
Kathryn was 89
years old. She was preceded in death by her husband John Hunter Cain,
SR. in 1987.
She is
survived by her three sons; John (Carolyn), Rodger (Shananne) and
Bruce (Kim) and her daughter; Kathy Turk (Bud). Her 11 Grandchildren;
Kasey, Cliff, Katie, Melissa, Randi, Wendy, Jessica, Kyle, Justin,
Jarrod, and Jenna and 19 great grand children.
At her
request, she was laid to rest, in a private graveside ceremony on
Thursday, January 12, 2012, in Pine Forest Cemetery officiated by the
Rev. Gary Upleger.
In lieu of
flowers the family has requested donations to Cornerstone Hospice,

Det. David T. Padgett, 41,
of
Sorrento, FL, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011.
David was born on September 22,
1970 in Leesburg, FL. He was a lifelong resident of Lake County.
David was a very creative writer
who loved the outdoors, the ocean and scuba diving. He also enjoyed
muscle cars, music and movies.
David started his career with the
Lake County Sherriff’s Office in 1996. He was very dedicated to his
job with LCSO and to his fellow officers and members of the community.
David was a loving father who was
very supportive and encouraging to his children. Additionally, he
loved and adored his wife, Teresa and would do anything to make her
happy. They were married on January 24, 1999 and Teresa was his
world.
David had an infectious smile and
he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa;
sons, Billy, Connor, Blake, and Andrew; mother, Lois Santangeo; sister,
Kim Smith; mother and father-in-law, Art and Ruth Wood; and his dog,
Hooch.
Visitation will be held on
Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Allen J. Harden
Funeral Home in Mount Dora, FL and from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on

Elizabeth (Betty) Dick, 95,
of
Mount Dora, FL, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011.
She was born
on July 9, 1916 to the late David Garfield and Edith (Scott) Garfield,
in New York, NY.
Elizabeth
moved to the Mount Dora area from Clearwater in 1980.
She was self
employed and the co owner of the Town and Country Dress Shop of
Haddonfield, NJ. She was also an avid flyer and owned her own
plane.
Elizabeth was
married on August 15, 1952 to Victor J.W. Dick.

Barbara
Jean (McAuley) Keller, 84, of Tavares, FL passed away September
21, 2011 in Orlando, FL surrounded by family. Previously residing in
Toledo, OH and Sanibel, FL. Barbara was born October 19, 1926 in
Bradenton FL, attended Perrysburg High School and the Toledo Hospital
School of Nursing. She was a surgical RN for years at Toledo Hospital
and then worked for Dr Arthur James. During WWII she was in the US
Cadet Nurse Corp through The University of Toledo and was a member of
the University's Alumni Association. Barbara was a member of St
Paul's Lutheran Church, Toledo, OH, The Toledo Club, North Cape Yacht
Club, Toledo Yacht Club, Maumee River Yacht Club, Sanibel
Congregational United Church of Christ and the First United Methodist
Church of Mount Dora, FL. She was heavily involved in the Toledo
Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra's Women's League, St Paul's Lutheran
Church Circle, First United Methodist Church Circle and Planned
Parenthood. She also dabbled in entrepreneurship and owned a yarn
shop in Toledo. While in Toledo, Barbara attended every Toledo
University football and basketball game and thoroughly enjoyed college
basketball. Barbara belonged to the Antiques Car Club of Lake County
and the Sunnyland Chapter of the Antique Classic Boat Society in
Florida. She enjoyed sailing one design Lightnings with her husband
and also enjoyed his love of wooden speed boats. Barbara was an avid
birder and Audubon member. Her great love was Sanibel Island and the
beach, where she enjoyed walking and shelling daily. With Barbara's love of birding, she
would spend hours in the Ding Darling Bird Sanctuary. Barbara had a
great sense of humor and sharp wit and was once said to be made of
strong stuff, and that would epitomize her. Barbara had immense
courage, strength, fortitude and resolve and was an inspiration to all
that came in contact with her.
She was preceded in death by her
husband of 60 years James Arthur, Brother James McAuley, Sister Mary
Loudenslagel, and parents Lesta and James McAuley. She is survived by
sister Alice (McAuley) Shumer of Jacksonville, FL, son James Matthew
(Susan) of Louisville, KY and daughter Rebecca Jo of Hilliard, OH.
Two grandchildren Tyler James and Erin Christine, who she adored and
was so proud of them in their accomplishments. Tyler is due to
graduate from the UK Medical School and is going on to be an
Orthopedic Surgeon. Erin is a CCU RN who cares for families such as
ours, that are in need of comfort and loving care for their love ones.
She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews, of which
nieces Debbie Laliberte, Karen Pate and Gena Laliberte-Conolly were
with her in her last moments. In the past year she has had
extraordinary care from special caretakers; Sandy Gillislee, Dana
Moore, Kisia Williams and Kelly Cunningham who loved her as much as
she loved them.
A memorial service
will be held for friends and family on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 1
PM at the First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora, 439 E 5th Ave.,
Mount Dora, FL 32757. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
memorial donations be made to Ding Darling Wildlife Society, 1
Wildlife Dr, Sanibel Island, FL 33957.
